WAQF2025

India’s parliament passed the Waqf Amendment Bill on April 2, 2025.  This bill pertains to the statutory powers of the Waqf (Muslim endowment board) granted by the Government of India.   

Some organizations in the US are spreading misinformation about the bill.  This misinformation not only maligns our dharmabhoomi, Bharat, but also adversely affects the adherents of Sanatana Dharma here in the US. 

For American audiences and lawmakers, this is a chance to grasp the Hindu perspective: that authentic secularism demands uniform laws and religious equality requires the dismantling of legal privilege—not perpetuating it.

We believe that in a true democracy, all religions must be treated equally. Illegal land grabbing under the Waqf provisions must be stopped. Hindus must have the right to govern their temples and temple-owned properties as the Waqf board does.
