Press Release: AHAD Demands Immediate Dismissal of Peter Navarro for Promoting Hindu Hate

Washington, D.C., [September 2, 2025] HinduPACT’s American Hindus Against Defamation (AHAD) today issued a decisive call for the President of the United States to dismiss Peter Navarro from his position as Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, following his deeply inappropriate and Hinduphobic reference to caste and his portrayal of India’s Prime Minister in a sacred act of Hindu prayer. Navarro’s rhetoric constitutes not only a cultural violation but also a reckless provocation that endangers the dignity of over a billion Hindus and threatens the foundational relationship between the two largest democracies.

Caste Tropes Are Not a Policy Tool — They’re a Colonial Weapon

Navarro’s comment, accusing “Brahmins profiting at the expense of the Indian people,” is not a critique; it’s a colonial-era trope recycled to divide Hindu society and depict India as inherently unjust. Using caste rhetoric to pressure a democratic ally is beneath the diplomatic dignity of the United States.

“This is not foreign policy. It’s weaponized Hinduphobia,” said Ajay Shah, Executive Chair of HinduPACT. “Dividing Hindus through colonial scripts doesn’t build relationships. It destroys them. People like Navarro have no place in American political life.”

Mocking Hindu Prayer Undermines Religious Respect

Navarro also circulated an image of India’s Prime Minister meditating in saffron robes; a sacred Hindu practice rooted in dharma. The implication was clear: ridicule Hindu spirituality while pushing economic pressure.

“Saffron is sacred. Prayer is not propaganda. What exactly was Navarro trying to say by using that image?” asked Deepti Mahajan, President of HinduPACT. “If the target was the Hindu faith, that’s religious hostility. If the target was India’s leadership, that’s diplomatic recklessness. Either way, it’s a serious violation.”

Hindus in the US Are the Collateral Damage

Navarro’s language empowers the worst elements of public discourse. Caste slurs and attacks on Hindu symbols don’t stay in policy papers. They show up in classrooms, in hiring panels, in temple vandalism.

“When someone like Navarro uses caste to shame India, it lands on Hindus here,” said Deepa Karthik, General Secretary of HinduPACT. “Kids get bullied. Workers get profiled. We get treated like we owe the world an apology for our heritage.”

A Clear Message to the White House: Fire Navarro

AHAD calls on the President to fire Peter Navarro immediately. His language encourages division. His symbolism targets religion. His politics poison one of America’s most natural global partnerships.

If Hindu hate and Hindu ridicule are tolerated inside US policy circles, it tells over five million Hindus in this country, and over a billion in India, that their identity is negotiable.  This is not who we are. And it cannot be allowed to stand.

The Weaponization of Transnational Repression Narrative Against India

TNR Narrative – Tarnishing India Targeting Diaspora Hindus. A Report by AHAD an Initiative of HinduPACT

TNR narrative against India is a product of coordinated advocacy, ideological bias, and geopolitical strategy, rather than empirical evidence. Its propagation threatens to undermine civil liberties, disrupt diaspora engagement, and erode the rights and cultural identity of Indian and Hindu communities abroad. The report calls for vigilance, transparency, and evidence-based policy to ensure that democratic values and diaspora rights are upheld, and that India and its diaspora are not unjustly equated with authoritarian regimes.

Press Release: U.S. and UK-based Hindu Organizations Demand Global Recognition of Islamist Terrorism Targeting Hindus and Strategic Policy Reform based on International Human Rights Law.

San Ramon, CA – In the wake of the brutal terrorist massacre of Hindu tourists in Jammu and Kashmir, India on April 22, 2025, prominent Hindu organizations based in the United States (U.S.) and the United Kingdom (UK) have issued a series of powerful open letters to global institutions including the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. State Department, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

The letter campaign, coordinated by HinduPACT’s Hindus Advancing Human Rights (HAHRI) initiative, urges global institutions to acknowledge and confront the religious ideology that fuels Islamist terrorism against Hindus, Christians, and other non-Muslim minorities worldwide.

On that fateful April day, 26 unarmed Hindu pilgrims were ruthlessly gunned down by Islamist terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Eyewitness accounts indicate that victims were forced to recite Islamic declarations of faith, produce identity documents, and even subjected to physical checks to determine if they were circumcised – a chilling tactic to identify and target Hindus and other non-Muslims. The terrorists then opened fire, murdering the identified victims in front of their families.

Rahul Sur, Executive Director of the Hindu American Human Rights Initiative (HAHRI), stated: “This was a grave violation of international human rights laws. It was not a random act of

violence—but a premeditated, religiously motivated massacre, singling out Hindus. And it is part of a global pattern that has taken countless Hindu lives across South Asia and beyond. We call upon international institutions and countries to stop enabling Islamist extremism through silence or appeasement and fulfill their obligations undertaken as signatories of human rights treaties.

Hindus will no longer be invisible victims. We are demanding institutional honesty.”

This attack is only the latest example of such religiously motivated brutality inflicted upon Hindus by Islamists: a “drip-drip genocide.” in Pakistan, ethnic cleansing in Bangladesh, as well as attacks upon them reported by the United Nations (UN) and their wipeout in Afghanistan. In 1989-90, Hindus in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir were given the option “convert, flee, or die.” Of those who fled, most have yet to return home.

The letters also point out the worldwide pattern of Islamist terrorists deliberately separating and killing non-Muslims. In Nigeria, Burkina Faso, the Philippines, Mozambique, and Kenya, Islamists have used similar tactics to isolate and kill Christians for their faith. These are not unrelated incidents, but expressions of a deeply rooted global ideological menace. Our research shows that between 1979 and May 2021, at least 48,035 Islamist terrorist attacks took place worldwide. They caused the deaths of at least 210,138 people. One hundred percent of the entities sanctioned by the Security Council, ISIL (Daesh) and Al-Ǫaida Sanctions Committee, are Islamist terrorists.

The UN Security Council considers that “terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security” and “acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever, and by whomever committed.”

This worldwide problem demands a reality-based response. The European Union (EU), concerning “the root causes of violent terrorism,” explicitly mentions “a Salafi-jihadi interpretation of Islam.” It makes clear that terrorists or potential terrorists are motivated by both political and religious factors. A UN handbook on the management of violent extremist prisoners lists the motivations to resort to violent extremist acts, which include “extreme interpretations of religious ideologies and beliefs that advocate the use of violence.”

Addressing the root causes of Islamist terrorism is not Islamophobia. The deliberate killing of non- Muslims is only one aspect of the much larger problem of Islamist terrorism haunting the world, which requires accurate terminology and policy reform. The problem can be addressed comprehensively only when it is accurately named, its root causes are established, and action is taken according to international law.

Deepti Mahajan, President of HinduPACT, emphasized the need for the international community to name and confront the ideology behind these attacks:

“It is time to abandon politically expedient euphemisms like ‘violent extremism’ and name the threat for what it is—Islamist terrorism. If the UN and global agencies genuinely care about human rights, they must recognize Hindus as victims and Islamism as a worldwide ideological threat. The massacre of Hindus in Kashmir must be the last straw. The world must stop denying the reality of Islamist terror. If the rights of Hindus are ignored today, then the rights of all non-Muslims are in danger tomorrow.

    The open letters demand that:

    • The FBI reactivates and establishes counter-extremism training programs that address the religious-political roots of Islamist terrorism.
    • The UN Human Rights and Counter Terrorism Office should organize high-level expert workshops around the world, to examine the extent to which national legislation, jurisprudence, and policies consider whether the religio-political ideology motivating Islamist terrorists arouses hatred, hostility, intense and irrational emotions of opprobrium, enmity and detestation towards non-believers (the kuffar) and whether they can be restricted under articles 18 and 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights; the term ‘Violent Extremism’ be replaced by ‘Violent Islamist Extremism’ when it occurs and the Comprehensive Convention on Terrorism pending for the last thirty years in the UN be finalized.
    • The USCIRF should determine the worldwide impact of the religio-political ideology utilized by Islamist terrorists on religious freedom and the lives of non-Muslims through the lens of international human rights standards, such as those found in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political
    • The EU should “introduce a comprehensive counter-terrorism agenda to prevent radicalization” to analyze the religio-political ideology utilized by Islamist terrorists and publish the results thereof.

Press Release : HinduPACT Launches in Austin, Texas, Unveiling Key Initiatives

    August 4, 2025

AUSTIN, TX– HinduPACT, an American Hindu organization dedicated to advocating for dharmic values and the Hindu ethos in public life, proudly announces the successful launch of its Austin, Texas chapter. The inaugural event, held recently, was met with an overwhelmingly positive reception from the wider community, marking a significant step forward in HinduPACT’s mission to foster inclusion, pluralism, and human rights.

A key highlight of the event was an informative presentation by Rahul Sur, Executive Director of HinduPACT’s Hindus Advancing Human Rights (HAHRI) initiative, a distinguished global leader in social justice reform and former Chief of the United Nations Peacekeeping Evaluation in the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) at UN Headquarters in New York.

Mr. Sur delivered a thought-provoking talk on the “drip, drip Genocide of Hindus in the last 75 years in Pakistan,” offering deep insights from his extensive UN work, including human rights.

Mr. Sur said, “The world has turned a blind eye to the killing, and rape of Hindus and the destruction of temples after Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus took charge of the government. Bangladesh’s Hindu population has plummeted from 28% in 1947 to just 7% now. This blatant violation of human rights must end immediately.”

His powerful presentation resonated deeply with attendees, shedding light on the Hindu Genocide that is often suppressed from public consciousness.

The event’s success underscores the growing need for platforms that facilitate open discussion and advocacy on issues vital to the Hindu community. HinduPACT’s launch in Austin signifies a stronger commitment to its mission, empowering individuals to participate in meaningful dialogue and help build a more inclusive and just society.

The launch event served as a pivotal platform to showcase HinduPACT’s key impactful initiatives, each created to tackle significant issues affecting the Hindu community both globally and in the United States.

    • HAHRI (Hindus Advancing Human Rights): Inspired by the Bhagavad Gita’s call for righteousness, HAHRI champions human rights worldwide. This initiative has been instrumental in raising awareness and taking action against human rights violations, including the formal complaint regarding the “drip, drip genocide” faced by minorities in Pakistan, and advocating for persecuted Hindus in regions like Bangladesh, Kashmir, Afghanistan, and Canada. HAHRI also addresses broader issues of gender equality and racial justice.
    • CHINGARI (Coalition for Hindu Girls Abducted and their Rights): CHINGARI is a crucial human rights initiative focused on shedding light on the plight of Pakistani Hindu girls who are tragically abducted, forcibly converted, and sexually abused. Through global awareness campaigns, Chingari urges international action, particularly from the United States, to combat these horrific forced conversions and abductions.

    Washington, DC

    April 29, 2025

    For Immediate Release

In an extraordinary demonstration of solidarity and remembrance to honor the victims of the brutal Pahalgam massacre by Pakistan-supported Islamist terrorists, the united Hindu groups, comprising thirteen organizations, organized peaceful vigils across major U.S. cities on April 26 and April 27, 2025.

Americans for Hindus (A4H), Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA), Federation of Indians and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), Global Hindu Temple Network (GHTN), Global Hindu Heritage Foundation (GHHF), Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA), HinduPACT, Hindu American Foundation (HAF), Hindu Mandir Empowerment Council (HMEC), Hindu Swaymasevak Sangh (HSS), HinduDvesha, The Avanti Foundation, Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA), and American Hindu Federation (AHF), Voice of Hindus, all came together in solidarity with a unified call to end global Islamist terrorism.

On April 22, 2025, twenty-five Hindu men in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India, were executed by Islamist terrorists affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Eyewitnesses confirm that the terrorists performed a litmus test on each of the tourists to verify their religious identity by asking them to recite Kalma (Islamic prayer) and then stripped them to confirm if they were circumcised.  Upon confirmation of their Hindu identity, the innocent Hindu men were mercilessly executed in front of their families.

This heinous act of targeted religious violence is the latest in a long history of attacks on Hindus in Kashmir, including the 1990 ethnic cleansing of nearly 400,000 Kashmiri Hindus, the 2000 Amarnath massacre (32 killed), and the 2002 Qasim Nagar massacre (29 killed).

A Nationwide Cry for Justice and Recognition

Thousands of Hindu Americans gathered in rallies across the US, including the ones listed below:

    • Washington, DC
    • New York City, NY.  Multiple rallies – Union Square Park, Times Square, in front of the Pakistani Consulate

    • Chicago, IL
    • Los Angeles, CA
    • Seattle, WA
    • Las Vegas, NV
    • University of California, Berkeley

More rallies are planned for the coming days. On May 1st, there will be a vigil in Washington, DC, and on Monday, May 5th, a vigil protest will take place at the Pakistan Consulate in Los Angeles, CA. The Hindu Mandir Empowerment Council (HMEC) has organized a virtual prayer meeting on May 3rd, where temples across the USA are expected to participate.

Participants lit candles, recited prayers, and observed a minute of silence for the twenty-six Hindus whom the Muslim Jihadist terrorists slaughtered. They also carried signs that read, “Justice for Pahalgam,” “Stop State-Sponsored Islamist Terror,” and “Stop Killing Hindus.”  Vigil organizers stressed that this was a matter of human rights and religious freedom, transcending regional or national politics.

Our call is simple, concluded Dr. Ajay Shah, Founder of HinduPACT: “Religious freedom must apply to Hindus too. Human dignity must include Hindu lives too. The victims of Pahalgam are not statistics; they are our brothers and sisters. We will remember and will demand justice. Pakistan-sponsored drip-drip genocide of Hindus must stop.”

“We call upon the world leaders to unitedly fight Islamist terrorism looming over humanity at large and ensure its total destruction,” said Shyam Tiwari, Chief spokesperson for VHPA, calling for decisive action.

The Islamist terror attacks have again highlighted the darkest, most visceral face of anti-Hindu hate. Pahalgam was not an isolated incident, but part of a broader pattern of religiously driven hate against Hindus, said CoHNA president Nikunj Trivedi. “We call upon leaders around the world to fight back against this rising wave of Hinduphobia.”

Suhag Shukla, Executive Director of HAF, stated, “This was a deliberate, brutal assault on innocent people whose only ‘offense’ was being Hindu. Families were hunted, religiously profiled, and murdered in cold blood, making this not just a tragedy for Indians, but a matter of deep concern to all who value religious freedom and human dignity.”

Dr. Romesh Japra, Founder and President of Americans for Hindus (A4H), brings to attention that, “Terrorism will bring down Humanity if not eradicated from the world, and all world leaders must work together to eliminate terrorism as the priority.”

“Tourism cannot whitewash the truth!” stated Uphaar Kotru, President of Kashmiri Overseas Organization. “Each attack reopens wounds we’ve never had the chance to heal. Our pain has been ignored for far too long.”

Core Demands Issued by the united Hindu community to US Legislators:

    1. Recognition of the Pahalgam massacre as terrorism motivated by religion against Hindus.
    2. Official designation of Pakistan as a “State Sponsor of Terrorism” by the United States.

The united Hindu community demanded an UN-led inquiry into systemic anti-Hindu violence in Pakistan and Bangladesh.  Furthermore, they implored the global media to acknowledge the Hindu victims of religious persecution. They demanded that the Western press cease its complicity and sanitizing of Islamist terrorism by calling the perpetrators “militants” or “rebels.”

The vigil also highlighted the historical continuity of attacks on Hindus, from the act of ethnic cleansing in Kashmir to the desecration of temples in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

    Other leader statements:

Mohinder Gulati, President of Global Hindu Temple Network America, pointed out “the failure of the international organizations and international financial institutions to enforce the Treaties, Conventions, and their policies in dealing with Pakistan-sponsored Islamist terrorism.”

Sanjeev Kak of The Avanti Foundation strongly condemned the extremely barbaric massacre of innocent tourists visiting Pahalgam by the Pakistan sponsored Jihadi terrorists.

Dr. Amit Desai, spokesperson for Voice of Hindus, said, “We are mourning the brutal killing of Hindu pilgrims in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, a shocking act of terror. We demand justice and global action against such religious violence.”

HAHRI Condemns Terrorist Attack on Tourists in Pahalgam, Demands Global Action Against State-Sponsored Islamic Terrorism

San Ramon, CA – Hindus Advancing Human Rights Initiative (HAHRI), an arm of HinduPACT, unequivocally condemns the brutal terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, targeted a group of unarmed civilians, killing at least 28 and injuring several others, solely because of their religious identity.

According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports, the attackers confirmed the victim was “not a Muslim” before executing him in cold blood. One survivor recounted in horror:

“The gunman said my husband was not a Muslim and then shot him.”

This chilling statement exposes the religious hatred that motivated the attack—an expression of the genocidal ideology that continues to plague the region.

This act of terror occurred during Vice President J.D. Vance’s diplomatic visit to India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s simultaneous engagement in Saudi Arabia. As Ajay Shah, Founder and Convenor of HinduPACT, pointed out:

The message from the terrorist state across India’s western border is clear. On behalf of American Hindus, we express our heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims.

Rahul Sur, Executive Director of HAHRI, made an urgent call to conscience:

“HAHRI unequivocally condemns the heinous, cowardly Pahalgam attack. We stand unflinchingly with the families of the victims and call upon human rights organizations to unequivocally condemn this terrorist act. The world has been warned repeatedly about this Islamic fundamentalism. It must be crushed. It is time to sanction Pakistan.”

The terrorist strike is yet another bloody reminder of Pakistan’s long-standing use of terror as an instrument of state policy. Groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen—operating with the protection and funding of Pakistan’s ISI—have systematically targeted Hindus and other minorities in the region, as thoroughly documented in security reports and terrorism compendia.

In a powerful display of international solidarity, President Donald J. Trump issued a statement:

“President Trump strongly condemned the terror attack and expressed full support to India to bring to justice the perpetrators of this heinous attack. India and the United States stand together in the fight against terror.”

This latest massacre is not an isolated incident but part of a broader historical pattern of targeted violence against Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir, which includes the ethnic cleansing of nearly 400,000 Kashmiri Hindus in the 1990s. This tragedy remains underacknowledged by mainstream international media and human rights forums.

The ideological justification for these atrocities can be traced to radical interpretations of jihad that explicitly target non-Muslims as ‘kafirs. ‘ Such religiously motivated hate crimes are not only violations of human rights but also clear indicators of a genocidal intent. The world must awaken to this systemic and enduring threat.

Deepti Mahajan, Co-Convenor of HinduPACT stated:

“It is pertinent to note that HAHRI has submitted a formal complaint to the United Nations accusing Pakistan of a ‘drip, drip genocide’ of its minority Hindus, Christians, and Sikhs.”

    HAHRI calls for:

    • Immediate sanctions against Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism.
    • A formal designation of Pakistan as a State Sponsor of Terrorism by the U.S. government.
    • A United Nations-led inquiry into the persecution of Hindus and other minorities in Kashmir.
    • Global recognition of the plight of Kashmiri Hindus and other indigenous communities displaced or targeted by Islamist terror.

The families of the victims deserve more than mere words. They deserve justice. The global Hindu community demands that such crimes no longer go unnoticed, unpunished, or explained away under the guise of “regional tensions.”

HAHRI remains dedicated to advocating for the human rights and security of Hindus and other marginalized communities worldwide and urges all people of conscience to stand in solidarity against terror, intolerance, and ideological hatred.
